Calligram letter
Hi, dear future self. I hope that you're doing well and that you are a successful person, not only in your profession but in life overall.
I'm sure you've been through a lot of overthinking these last few years, hurting yourself for your unachievable goals or standards. We've been there a couple of times, haven't we? But no matter what, we've always succeeded no matter all the stress we give to ourselves, right? We're warriors, titanic beings looking to strive in whatever we push ourselves into. Remember, we're just like UD Las Palmas. We love to suffer; we were born to this routine. We hate to watch the players suffer on the field and watch the crowd suffer with them as well, but when bringing that lucky charm on winning games at the end of the day, such satisfaction cannot be bought. The same thing goes with our success.
Never forget the past, whether I'm talking about the 5 years of bullying in Cabo Verde, the heavy hours of studying in Ghana's LFA while having multiple existential crisis, to boxing at 5:00 AM in Accra, to actually feel physical pain, to resisting the philosophical urge of disappearing during the COVID Era, to almost regretting losing your life while mountain climbing this summer, etc.
Life is actually easy, Marco. I hope you've learned that at this point. I hope you've also learned how to forgive yourself for fucking up during your first try. It happens, even to the luckiest ones out there. What matters is that you didn't give up on yourself and the ones that surround you. The ones that truly care and love you for who you really are. I know man, I know those voices come and go, but remember, you got discipline. Your gym partners know you as Canary Beast for a reason. Discipline is the motivation that drives you. Never forget that.
Plus, remember those days where you motivated the heck out of people for how mature you were? Hope you didn't become that crybaby that makes other people look insane for their attitudes, and instead listen to gain more knowledge about how life works. What matters is that you've gained enough self-respect to move on with your life and find inner peace. I know we've been distancing ourselves from attention seekers, fakeness, and we have to keep it real sometimes by being observant and judgemental, even if it hurts the opposition.
Nonetheless, Don Bruno would be proud of the man you have become. Same thing for Mom and Dad, and especially Alejandra, our little sister. Compared to what she's gone through, you have nothing to complain about.
Keep it tight, amigo. Block the Hate. I'm proud of you.
